On 15 November, La Mondiale Europartner launched a version of Life Mobility Evolution aimed at the Portuguese market.
This new policy is aimed primarily at the 50,000 to 60,000 French expatriates living in Portugal (source: French embassy in Portugal).
With the ‘classic’ Life Mobility Evolution policy, Portuguese tax residents could only take out a policy if they were of French, Belgian, Luxembourg or Italian nationality and opted for French, Belgian, Luxembourg or Italian law respectively, in application of the applicable European provisions (*) (**).
With Life Mobility Evolution Portugal, any Portuguese resident can now take out a policy, whatever their nationality, and benefit from Portuguese tax rules. In addition, this contract, which is governed by Portuguese law, offers a number of special features, such as the possibility of opting for a contribution in shares.
As Loïc Le Foll, Director of Wealth Savings at AG2R LA MONDIALE, points out, ‘our aim is to give our French, Luxembourg and Swiss partners the opportunity to support their customers, and also to expand in this market by offering financial solutions tailored to residents’.
